Vows (since no one could hear them)

Sara’s Vows:

You are the one that knows me.You know me and you love me— when I’m hungry and cranky, or when I’m silly and fun, making you laugh all night when you should be sleeping.

I vow to strive, everyday, to be as good to you as you are to me.

And I will continue to learn to love myself. Thank you for being the kindest reflection— a mirror that lets me see the best of me. I vow to be that for you, too. I want you to know how wonderful you are!

I love you so completely.

We are both good people, but together, we are amazing.

Brendan’s Vows:

My darling Sara,

I remember one of the first things you asked of me was to make coffee in the morning. Before we were what we are now, I’d be up 15 minutes before you, put on a pot of coffee and we’d sit on your patio and wake up together.

At a time when I don’t think either one of us thought it was possible, we would laugh. We were ridiculous; 7am was far more enjoyable than it should have been. Our mornings continued, and we added our evenings to the routine, then arranged our schedules to include lunch. Considering everything going on outside of us, the part of our lives we shared was just easy.

Love was easy; we were in it before we knew it. We found in each other two people who made the other one happy by making themselves happy.

You know I’ll always love you, you know I love who you are now and who you’ll become. But the only thing I’ll vow to you is coffee in the morning; to remind us every day how the simplest of gestures to one another have a tremendously wonderful and profound affect on our lives together.
